Occurrence: Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica) is a perennial creeping plant from the family Apiaceae. It has two distinctive forms. In the areas with high humidity the vines have big, wide leaves. On the other hand, in the areas with less water the leaves are much smaller and thinner. The herbal resource of Gotu Kola are the leaves that can be harvested throughout the whole year.

Naturally, Gotu Kola grows mostly near the water basins in Central Asia. It also occurs in South Africa, Australia, Sri Lanka and most of the South Pacific islands.
