In turn, the flowers of this plant are gathered in panicle-like inflorescences and turn yellow. The raw material used for essential oil is its brownish-green resin called galbanum. Galbanum tree naturally occurs in the western parts of Asia, mainly in Iran and Turkmenistan. It is most often found in mountainous areas.

Biochemistry: Galbanum is a complex mixture of active compounds that gives the essential oil obtained from plants of the Ferula galbaniflua species an unusual, rich aroma.
