BERBERINE + SILYMARIN

Supports the functioning of the liver: Research evidence shows that sylimarin plays a role in maintaining the homeostasis of the liver cells. In other words, it keeps their inner environment stable by preventing toxins from entering. What is more, it stimulates their natural repair processes. Berberine also exhibits neuroprotective properties. Specifically, it prevents the cells of this organ from damage that can be a result of toxic substances, including ethyl alcohol. This is possible thanks to several mechanisms that involve, among others, LDL receptors to capture these molecules from the blood. Additionally, berberine prevents the formation of foam cells that are involved in the development of atherosclerotic plaques. Sylimarin, on the other hand, lowers the oxygenation of lipids and the synthesis of cholesterol. What is more, it alters the proportion of its fraction in favor of ‘good’ HDL cholesterol form. Taken together, these properties make berberine and sylimarin an excellent support to the cardiovascular system.
